You will need 2 people for sure to assemble because the wood is very heavy. Even with help we still encountered problems. When assembling the sides the wood was so heavy that it snapped the pegs in half leaving the other halves in the wood. We weren't able to get the other halves of the pegs out because they had to be glued with a Elmer's type of glue. Frustrated, I wrote Amazon & they were very responsive. They gave me tree choices: 1. I could keep the item and receive a 30% refund 2. I could return the furniture stand for a full refund. 3. I was offered a replacement for the entire set. I decided on a refund because we were unable to get the other halves of the snapped pegs out of the pieces we put together. And we didn't want to chance this happening to us again. We are going to search for Amazon for another TV Stand. I'm really pleased about the options Amazon gave me and that's why I gave it 3 stars.
