I'd rate this drafting table a 3.5, but I'll round up before rounding down.

This drafting table is actually being used as a mobile standing workstation for a laptop, drawing tablet and extra display. With the desk top angled level, it works very well for this purpose.

Construction, build and materials are what should be expected of a drafting table of this price. Particle board top, particle board shelf, stamped steel tubing with a durable matte finish for the base, chrome finish for the adjustable extenders. Lockable polymer roller feet or optional fixed feet. Edges on the desktop are covered with a thin polymer tape/coating producing somewhat sharp edges that some may want to sand down with 150 grit sandpaper to smooth out. The particle board used for the desk top is dense and flex free under normal pressure. Can't comment on the durability of the faux wood grain finish over time, but it does feel slick to the touch and is hard enough for writing with a ballpoint pen without leaving indentations like unfinished wood.

The convenience shelf was likely only designed for light materials as the reference books I am currently storing caused the shelf to flex and bow after less than a month. This is fairly normal for particle board shelves of any kind; you get what you pay for. A piece of laminate plywood could have fixed this, but it is likely a cost issue.

In short, this is a very functional drafting table that wouldn't look out of place in a school art classroom although the durability over years with heavy use could be questionable. As a standing computer workstation that can be rolled around, it has performed exactly as intended.
