You can't buy this microwave at your local dept. store or the orange/blue box stores for some reason. I wasted gas visiting all the stores and they only have overstock microwaves that have bad or mediocre reviews. I think they're just trying to off load their excess inventory on customers who need a microwave immediately that day. I'd suggest ordering a microwave online where you can read the reviews, buy at sale prices, and have it delivered right to your door. This will save you from heavy lifting and the costs and stress associated with driving your car to all the stores and waiting in line to buy your microwave.

You can forget calling the orange box store, because I think the employees are told not to answer the phone. This ploy makes you drive to their warehouse where your more likely to break open your wallet to buy something. There were employees sitting at desks talking to each other or just standing around when I visited, so I don't buy the excuse that they are all too busy with customers to answer the phone. I tried posting my review on their web site, but they won't post my review after I commented on their employees never answering the phone. Anyways, you can order this microwave online for $99 + tax at the orange box store. Order as a "guest" if you don't want to create a user name and password.

Many new microwaves don't include the light bulb feature that shines when you open the door. I shopped specifically for that light bulb feature, because I like to see inside the microwave when I'm wiping off food splatter. The digital display is easy to read and all the buttons are self explanatory. The interior rotating glass is large enough to fit a 11" dinner plate. This microwave heats much better than my 10 yr old Samsung microwave I donated. The Samsung microwave is so annoying, because after the timer is done it keeps making a dinging noise every few minutes until you acknowledge it and open the door. Kind of like a child that keeps tugging on your pants leg and yelling, until you focus your attention on the child. I shopped specifically for NOT having the dinging sound reminder every few minutes. Thankfully, the Whirlpool microwave only makes the dinging sound 5x when the timer is done and that's it.

The size is not too big or small to fit on the counter top and the white color matches my stove and fridge nicely. When pushing on the stiff door eject button the microwave tends to move backward due to the amount of force required to depress the button. The stiff eject button may loosen up over time though. Also, the black rubber feet at the bottom can't grip onto the counter top enough to counter act the forward push of the eject button. Solution- Buy 3/4" wide self stick round or square vinyl furniture bumpers and stick them at the base of each foot. They come in a 12 pack and cost around $3. They grip like the Dickens and your microwave won't move around so easy when pushing the eject button. Alternatively, Scotch makes a double sided 1/2" mounting tape you can cut to size and stick at the base of each foot. Cost is around $3/roll. Turn the microwave so that all the feet are exposed to you, then cut your tape to size and place the tape on the 4 black feet at each corner. Finally, remove the green backing to expose the sticky tape and set the microwave back on the counter top. The weight of the microwave will press down on the tape and adhere it to the counter top. These are 2 solutions that I've experimented with that work great. I chose the double sided tape solution, because I have more of that tape handy. Another minor issue is that the door is a bit loud when closing, but what microwave isn't and do you really expect BMW craftsmanship for 100 bucks? Also, if you hear howling wolf sounds while the microwave is on; That means you installed the circular plastic ring with wheels on wrong and it's scraping against the bottom. Remove the glass base plate and just flip the plastic ring over onto the other side to correct the wolf howling sounds.

In summary, good microwave with the features I'm looking for, but requires minor modifications to the feet for anti-slipping and some might find the door closing sound a bit unsettling.

June 2013 Update: Microwave still works great. Sometimes microwave will make a weird sound while trying to press the number pad. This just means you need to press the eject button and slam the microwave door shut, because it's not closed all the way.
