I am one of those Amazon users who normally only buys things with 4.5 star ratings and higher, rated by dozens (or hundreds) of people. You might say I'm not much of a risk taker. BUT I have searched high and low for an ottoman that can function as a coffee table, matches my color scheme, fits in my small apartment living room and doesn't cost several hundred dollars (way out of budget!) for quite a long time, so when I found this one, I had to take the chance.

I'm quite pleased with the result.

Pros:
-great size! the specs on the page are correct. it's the perfect height for putting your feet up, fits nicely in front of a 3-seat couch without overwhelming the room, and is spacious enough for my laptop, coffee cup and feet without fear of anything getting damanged (i.e. coffee spilling onto the laptop, haha).
-nice color, a rich brown. Legs and leather are very close in color.
-Good quality stitching/construction from what I can tell. It didn't even flinch when I fell on it earlier (I'm clumsy), so I'm guessing it could easily hold a lot more weight than an average-sized woman.
-easy to put together. Just 2 screws for each leg, allen wrench included. Took me longer to get it out of the box than to put the legs on.
-not too soft, not too hard. Goldilocks would be thrilled! firm enough for a cup of coffee, soft enough not to bruise my legs like my old coffee table's edges did.
-reasonable delivery time (3 business days, maybe 4?), and arrived undamaged. Plus they get bonus points in my book because mine came via FedEx. Since our UPS guy steals stuff, I appreciate anyone who uses any other shipping company.

Cons:
-Stinky! But that's fading, and with fake leather, you have to assume it will have that fake leather odor for the first few hours. [EDIT: 24 hours later and the odor is 100% gone.]
-it's fake leather. I mean, you're paying for fake leather and you get fake leather, so this is really "neutral", not a con, but ... if you're hoping for imitation leather, don't plan to fool anyone.
-I have a habit of putting my feet on the edge/corner of ottomans (so my knees are up in the air) and there is already a dent where my feet have been pressing for the last few hours. It may even out over time, but let's just say the padding doesn't seem like it will last forever.
-not prime eligible :'( (seriously, I paid half my annual prime fee just to have this item shipped!)

So far I'm thrilled with this purchase, especially for the price (yes, even with shipping fees). I'll update if anything changes!

**UPDATE**
I mentioned the edges denting in the original "Con" list - but I've now had this ottoman for several months and even though I consistently have my feet propped up in the same spot, there is no lasting dent in the padding. It seems to be memory foam under the fake leather, because it retains it's shape well.

I've also had a man weighing close to 250 pounds sit on it and it didn't creak, shudder, or bow under his weight.
