OAKTON Waterproof pHTestr 30 Product ID: WD-35634-30 Review

I own the earlier model (Waterproof pHTestr 3+) of this, which looks almost the same except for the display, button arrangements and design of the face. This model's display looks much better but otherwise the body of this looks just like mine. In any case, if this version is anything like the last one I bought, I am very happy with this product. I also feel it is worth the $100 (I paid this amount years ago) as I have had mine for years and still haven't changed the batteries! If you buy one of these you'll also need some calibration solutions. I usually calibrate mine with the 4.01 and 7.00 solutions because I use this to check my aquarium pH. Read the instructions and if it tells you to...don't forget to keep the electrode moist when not in use. I usually pour a bit of the 7.00 solution into the electrode cover and stand it up supported by my calibration solutions.

I just had to add this one last comment...I opened my mouth about not having to change the batteries yet and wouldn't you know it that I was using it just after I wrote this review and there were the letters "bat" as I was pushing buttons to display a temperature reading on mine! They've lasted years so I still can't complain.
