I bought this chair because, clearly, I was on a budget but still wanted to make my new small apartment LOOK nice. I agree with the other reviewers that this was not an easy chair to put together (comparatively speaking) but it wasn't some whole project that took hours and hours on end. It took my boyfriend (and me... sort of) about an hour to put the chair together, where it should've only taken 20-30 mins TOPS. For the price, this seems about right. It is not the most comfortable chair, so if you're looking for comfort, I'd look elsewhere. HOWEVER, if you are looking to fill space in a room with a nice chair that surprisingly comes in handy with the hidden compartment, then this is actually pretty perfect.
I have a small living room in a one bedroom apartment but somehow, just one couch (cream colored with espresso trim) didn't seem to fill the space enough. I added this chair where a love seat or recliner would go in comparison to the couch and it was just perfect enough to make the room come together. My boyfriend and I don't have people over TOO often since we moved so far away, but every friend that comes by says the chair looks really nice and then sits on it and laughs and says, "Okay it doesn't feel as good as it looks!" (We tell them prior that we got it cheap and ask their opinion.) They are honest when saying that it looks great but the comfortability issue is there. In other words, if this chair was really comfortable then it would be worth a lot more with how nice it looks. So hopefully this helps your decision making when it comes to buying this chair. And also... it doesn't feel HORRIBLE either, it just isn't super comfy. And to be honest, I don't think that should come to anyone's surprise when dishing out less than $200 bucks for a nice looking chair. If you want to put it off to the side in a living room or a bedroom as an accent chair that won't really get much daily use then it's perfect.
