I've never owned a silverware storage chest before so this one seems pretty expensive for what you get. There is no "brown leather inlay" so buyer beware. You can see some wood grain showing through the coating on the top - and the coating almost seems like plastic. With that said, there is a slight bow to the front which is attractive and the drawer pulls are burnished which look nice also. The lid knob was a little loose but I was able to get a small screwdriver up in there to tighten it. The inside is roomy although my new knives are so big they were difficult to fit in the slots on the inside of the lid. Overall it's okay so I'm keeping it, but it seems a pretty expensive price for the defects on the top of the lid. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Reed & Barton Falmouth One Drawer Flatware Chest, Dark Espresso with Brown Lining" are high quality item.
