I was a little skeptical because this was on the cheaper side, but I'm very happy with the product. The legs and top are solid wood, and the insert piece below is the compressed kind of MDF board.

Overall the construction is pretty solid - and set up is a breeze. There were some pretty intense scratches on part of the product, but most of these were covered after it was constructed. The scratches that weren't covered were not too noticeable, and disappeared with a little stain pen.

The scratches were disappointing, but the product is pretty solid. I have to imagine the scratches on the tabletop were more of an isolated incident.
