I purchased the "full" sized headboard only, not the footboard. The headboard came nearly completely assembled. All I had to do was attach the bottom part of the legs. It was very easy...the only tool required was a hex wrench, which was included in the package. It attached to my existing bed frame perfectly and effortlessly in less than five minutes.

The quality is better than I expected. Because the price is so low, I expected something a little flimsy that wouldn't last forever. In reality, it's very solid and I'm sure it will last for decades or longer. There are no parts of the frame, even the long bar at the top, that bend or flex. The color looks black to my eyes. I know the description says "mahogany gold" and I'm not exactly sure what that's supposed to mean, but the actual color is as black as it looks in their photo and it has a smooth, glossy finish.
