My husband and I assembled this fan over the weekend. It was not hard to put together and we had it running in about 20 minutes. Nothing to complain about the ease of assembly or the included instructions.

We attached the hose to it and made sure the pressure was not very high, plugged it in and turned it on. In a few seconds a very fine mist began coming out of the mist ports on the front of the fan. It would be great to sit outside in your bathing suit and have the fan constantly mist you, but for an outdoor dinner party it would not work out. It really gets you wet after a few minutes of misting and would only be good if you were o.k. with getting soaked. It would keep plants and animals very comfortable during the hottest time of the day.

The motor is not loud and the 3 speed settings work well. You have to turn it off before changing speeds though. And when we unplug it to put it into a different outlet we have to always press the "reset" button on the plug. No big deal though, must be a safety feature. We have it standing as high as it will go, with the fan head aiming the mist upwards and I like sitting in a chair a few feet away and feeling the mist fall on me. The head rotates around much further than a regular oscillating fan and mist water collects on the walls of my house but that's not a problem. You don't have to use the rotating function and can leave it set to blow in one direction.

Overall, it's a great idea and will keep you cool if you don't mind getting drenched after a while. My two kids absolutely love it. Even though it's for outdoor use, I won't be leaving it outside unless I'm using it. It still has an electric motor and I don't want it getting rained on. You can also use it just like a regular fan without the mist function and we may end up using it inside the house more than outside.
