I've justified using other expensive Panasonic appliances because they offer solid craftsmanship or some unique feature, but simply can't do so when it comes to Panasonic's Breakfast Collection toaster. It ranks more expensive than most toaster ovens. Although the toaster's glass exterior (with seven visible blue LED settings) looks high quality, the interior mechanics are no different than cheaper models that toast just as well. The buttons/diagrams are easy to understand, it can toast frozen bread and keep bread products warm. Toast consistency is excellent, and the two slots can accept varying bread thickness (even Texas toast). As much as I like this attractive toaster and might like to own the entire collection (coffee brewer & electric kettle), the cost is prohibitive. Maybe as time passes Panasonic will lower the price, making this very nice appliance more affordable and more likely to be bought. There's no reason a toaster should cost over $100. Such an expensive appliance should come with a better warranty (one year) and do a whole lot more than toaster basics.
