LexMod Fathom Plywood Lounge Chair in Walnut Review

Obviously this is not an authentic Eames LCW chair...but for the price, it's a great value. The wood grain is beautiful and the overall seat comfort rivals that of the original. That being said, it's apparent that with value comes some compromise. First, the hardware used to assemble the chair is IKEA-level allen screws that aren't the most beautiful looking amidst the rest of the chair. Next, the plywood isn't molded with the care I would expect from a real one. Mine has a defect that keeps me from rating it 5 stars. The neck should be curved to follow the curve of the backrest - so that when you assemble the chair the shock mounts sit flush against the neck (they're attached to the backrest). The neck of my chair curves out the opposite way on one side, leading to an imperfect alignment of the backrest. I've added some rubber washers to the mount in order to keep the screw in place better. It's not ideal, but again, for the value I can live with it.

I can say that shipping was fantastic and quick.

Great quality new tanks with recent date stamps. Best price I have been able to find, even with $25 for shipping each tank. Sure, you could buy some un-verified used tank and swap with a place that won't do direct refills. However, I'm using mine for food grade applications and want the piece of mind of knowing where the tank has been, and what it was used for, its whole lifetime. Nice size tank really with a good solid footprint to height ratio and about as heavy as I feel like dealing with; maybe around 50 pounds filled. I was thinking of getting one larger tank but I'm glad I got two of these instead, as they are much easier to move around and were cheaper. FYI - fire extinguisher companies seem to have less attitude about filling tanks without forcing a swap, so that is what I have been doing. Though with two 20 pound tanks now, I don't plan on visiting them for a few years.

We were looking for a smal storage bench that could be easily wiped since it was going to be used in a children's playroom. The size is small but perfect heighy for the kids to climb on or set their things on; a little wider would have been preferred but didn't stop us from purchasing.
